Songs from Celo Celo musicians Bruce Greene and Hilary Dirlam helped produce an art calendar with a companion audiotape called "Fiddler's Dozen." The songs "Sally" and "Frolic of the Frogs" represent the months of March and April, respectively. Calendar illustrations are by Celo artist Loy McWhirter. Interpreted by Red Wilson (guitar) and Bruce Greene (vocals, banjo) The song "Down the Road" refers to early disenfranchisement of the Appalachian region by the information infrastructure. "(It's an) old song, been around since some time in the 1800s," says Bruce Greene. "It's known as a North Carolina song, though lots of people sing it."
